ภาพยนตร์สั้นเรื่องนี้คือภาพยนตร์สั้นเรื่องที่ 7 โดย วิชชา สุยะรา เจ้าของภาพยนตร์สั้นอย่าง "ผู้ชนะ...สุดฤทธิ์" และ "เด็กชายที่ชอบล้างมือ"

อภัย:มณี ได้แรงบันดาลใจจากวรรณคดีของสุนทรภู่ นำมาดัดแปลงจากวรรณคดีที่แฟนตาซีแบบไทยๆ ให้กลายเป็นภาพยนตร์ไซ-ไฟ มิวสิคคัล ซึ่งเป็นการตีความใหม่แบบแทบไม่เหลือเค้าเดิมเลย

เรื่องย่อมีอยู่ว่า อภัย หนุ่มออฟฟิศที่เพิ่งจะเลิกกับแฟน ถูกมอมยาและตื่นขึ้นมาในห้องๆหนึ่ง ซึ่งเขาได้พบว่าเป็นห้องของฆาตกรที่อยู่ในคราบนักร้องสาวสุดเซ็กซี่ที่มาแกล้งยั่วยวนเขาในคลับ เธอมีชื่อว่า มณี มณีมีวิธีหาคนรักแบบที่ไม่มีผู้หญิงคนไหนทำ คือมอมยาแล้วจับมาขังไว้ในห้อง หากผู้ชายคนนั้นพยายามหนี เธอจะตัดหัวแล้วเก็บไว้ในตู้เย็น ร่างกายส่วนที่เหลือเธอจะนำมาทำเป็นอาหาร แล้วอภัยจะทำเช่นไร 

This short film "Apai:Mani" is directed by Witcha Suyara (and this is his 7th short film). The director of "A Girl Called Hero" and "Clean Hands Boy"

"Apai:Mani" is adapted and inspired from the literature "Phra Apai Mani" by Sunthornpoo. Transform from the Thai's most fantastic fairy tale into a Sci-Fi Musical. This is a new transformation that Thai people have never seen before.

"Apai" an office guy who broke-up with his girlfriend awake in a room of murderer. She's a woman in the club who seducted him so nicely "Mani". Mani has her mathod to find a new lover by drugged some body, capture him in her room and if he trying to escape; she cut off his neck and collect him in the freezer. Another part will be cook for her meal. So what would Apai do to survive?
